Islet Programs at Imagine Pharma focus on regenerative work aimed at expanding the sources of insulin-producing cells for the therapy of diabetes. A key component of the Islet Programs is the Imagine Islet Center, which is one of only five islet isolation centers selected by the Integrated Islet Distribution Program (IIDP) to provide high-quality islets to the diabetes research community.
Under the direction of Dr. Rita Bottino, a renowned expert in the field of islet isolations for research, pre-clinical, and clinical applications, Imagine’s Islet Programs also provide islet isolation consulting services, on-demand isolations, and pancreatic tissue and islet cell banking services, as well as an array of other related services.
The Imagine Islet Center is an approved Islet Isolation Center under the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases’ Integrated Islet Distribution Program.
The Islet Center provides research-grade human isolated islets, tissue processing, and related services to the diabetes research community. The center also supplies human islet cells to some of the leading academic diabetes centers in the United States.
